Sony Sports Network has secured exclusive broadcasting rights for India’s upcoming Test tour of England, delivering live multi-platform coverage across TV and digital platforms. The five-match series, which begins on June 20, marks the start of a new Test cycle and is one of the most anticipated cricketing contests of the year.
Comprehensive Coverage for Indian Viewers
Sony confirmed that all five Tests will be broadcast live on its Sony Sports Ten channels with commentary available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Viewers will also be able to stream the matches live on the SonyLIV app and website, making the action accessible across mobile, desktop, and smart TV devices.
The network’s spokesperson stated, “This is more than a broadcast — it’s a cricketing experience. From pre-match shows and expert panels to in-depth analysis and real-time statistics, we aim to bring fans closer to the action than ever before.”
India vs England: A Rivalry Renewed
The series promises high drama, with Shubman Gill leading India for the first time in Test cricket and Ben Stokes captaining a resurgent England side. This will be India’s first full Test series in England since 2022, and expectations are high following India’s near win in the previous tour.
Sony’s coverage will also feature behind-the-scenes content, player interviews, and mid-series specials, enriching the fan experience beyond the live matches.
Expanded Digital Engagement
SonyLIV will provide more than just streaming. Subscribers can access match highlights, multi-camera viewing options, and interactive scorecards, allowing fans to engage with the game in real time. Social media campaigns will further amplify coverage with live reactions, polls, and match-day insights across platforms.
Strategic Move Ahead of World Test Championship Cycle
With the 2025–2027 World Test Championship cycle starting, Sony’s acquisition of broadcast rights for this marquee tour reinforces its commitment to being the home of premium cricket content in India. The network already holds rights for major ICC events, bilateral series, and domestic tournaments, positioning it as a key player in cricket broadcasting.
